The Journey of Rice-Fish Co-Culture in Anhui

2024/08/12 17:04 Origin:Hi Anhui

Kamara Abdulai Merry from Sierra Leone studies rice-fish co-culture in China to pursue his dream. He gained admission to Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) in 2023, and now he conducts relevant scientific research in Xuancheng, Anhui, one of the scientific research bases of SHOU.

“The excreta from the animals can be used as nutrient for the rice while the rice provides an ambient environment for animals”. Kamara thinks rice-fish co-culture is eco-friendly and cost-effective. The technologies he acquired in China will contribute greatly to the development of agriculture in Sierra Leone and help improve the livelihoods of the people here.

When it comes to his life in Anhui, Kamara deeply felt the warmth and friendliness of the Chinese people, and was impressed by attractive scenery, stable and sound development here. In his leisure time, he wants to explore more about this land and makes more friends. At the same time, he looks forward to more exchanges between Africa and China in the future.
