To expand the tea industry, promote tea technology, and carry forward tea culture, to polish the golden brand of "China's Purple Tea Hometown." On April 16th, the grand opening ceremony of the "2025 Muchuan Purple Tea Promotion and Tea Culture Study Season" event took place at the Cultural Center Square in Muchuan County, along with an investment promotion conference. Six groups of tea companies (universities) from inside and outside the county signed cooperation agreements, with a total contract amount reaching 189 million yuan, ushering in a new chapter for the development of Muchuan's tea industry.
According to reports, this event is themed "Discover Mucuan River Valley and Taste Ecological Purple Tea." Through a variety of formats including the opening ceremony, investment promotion meetings, tea competitions, and tea tourism study experiences, it aims to comprehensively showcase the advantages of Mucuan's tea industry development, the cultural heritage of Sichuan tea, and its innovative achievements. The event attracts representatives from tea companies, industry experts, and tourists from all over the country to participate.
On the morning of that day, the opening ceremony kicked off with the grand promotional videos of Mucuan and Zicha, followed by an opening dance that blended the Mucuan grass dragon and copper drum dance, showcasing the long history and intangible cultural heritage of Mucuan. The tea art performance by the Chuan Nong Ziyi team interpreted the Eastern aesthetics of "beautiful tea, beautiful water, and beautiful ambiance." The event presented plaques to the "Most Influential Tea Product," "Quality Enterprise for Flower Infused Black Tea," "Export Tea Base Demonstration Town," "High Mountain Ecological Tea Demonstration Town," and "Rural Wealth Leader."
At the subsequent investment promotion conference, expert Yin Junfeng from the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences delivered a special analysis on the tea industry and new tea beverages, providing an in-depth interpretation of the opportunities and challenges of tea beverage consumption upgrades. Muchuan County promoted the investment potential of its tea industry from aspects such as policy support, resource advantages, and industrial foundation.
The Mucuan County Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China Tea Research Institute, officially unveiling the "Expert Workstation" jointly established by both parties. This marks a new milestone in Mucuan's tea industry, characterized by "technology empowerment and integration of industry, academia, and research." Meanwhile, Sichuan Huayi Biotechnology Co., Ltd. signed cooperation agreements with Pingwu Xuebaoding Tea (Group) Co., Ltd. from Sichuan Province, Leshan Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd. from Sichuan Province, Beijing Youmin Culture Communication Co., Ltd., and Yizhichun Tea Co., Ltd. from Sichuan Province, as well as Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, among six tea enterprises (universities) both inside and outside the county.
The signed projects cover production management, research and development and sales of single tea products and derivative products, brand marketing and promotion, in-depth development and utilization of ancient tea trees, transformation of scientific research achievements, integration of tea culture and tourism, and training of tea industry talents, which will lay a solid foundation for the diversified development of Muchuan tea industry.
In recent years, Muchuan County has actively built a distinctive industrial system centered on "a bamboo, a tea leaf, and a taro," along with four major cultural tourism sectors: new energy, new materials, sightseeing and experience, health care, homestays, and agritourism. Leveraging 225,000 mu of tea gardens and 1,055,000 mu of selenium-rich soil resources, the county is committed to the "rare, organic, and selenium-rich" direction, vigorously implementing actions to strengthen the tea industry chain. It aims to optimize the entire industrial chain from "tea leaf cultivation" to deep processing, branding, and integration with tea tourism. Over 40 tea enterprises, including Yizhichun, Leleshan, and Huayi Tea Industry, have been successfully cultivated and introduced. The comprehensive output value of the tea industry has reached 3.6 billion yuan, with per capita income for tea farmers exceeding 6,500 yuan, advancing towards a modern tea industry cluster at the ten-thousand-ton level.
This promotion of Mucuan Purple Tea and the tea culture study season is not only a grand event for industry and culture but also a practical exploration of revitalizing the county's tea industry.
