On the eve of Youth Day on May 4th, Shawan District held a themed exhibition titled "Youth in Flames · A Strong District with Me" on the evening of April 27th. Through a format combining "debate + talent show," it aimed to mobilize and guide young officials across the district to demonstrate their aspirations for struggle under the banner of youth, collectively resonating with the powerful call of "A Strong District with Me."

District Party Secretary and District Chief Wang Xiuli attended the event and delivered a speech. Li Yong, Director of the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, Chen Weibo, Chairman of the District CPPCC, and Xiong Kebing, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, also attended the event. Leaders from the District Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, the District Government, and the District CPPCC, as well as the principal leaders of the Party and government in all towns (streets), the heads of district-level departments and district-owned enterprises, and young cadres who have recently joined the district participated in the event.

Wang Xiuli said in her speech that for a long time, the vast number of young cadres across the region have actively devoted themselves to the overall economic and social development of Shawan, leading the charge and tackling tough challenges. They have taken center stage in key tasks such as project advancement, industrial development, and investment attraction, proving with their actions that young cadres in Shawan can shoulder great responsibilities in the new era. She encouraged young cadres to firmly uphold their ideals and beliefs, using the Party's innovative theories to understand and grasp the times and guide the course of youth, becoming ambitious "aspiring youths." They should not waste their prime years but strive hard and work diligently in serving the people and promoting development, becoming proactive "capable youths." They should be diligent in learning and practice, striving to become versatile talents who can "write with a pen, speak with a voice, offer advice when asked, and handle matters when encountered," becoming competent "talented youths." They should consciously uphold virtue and goodness, carrying forward the spirit of stainless steel—remaining unrusting, unchanged, and untainted—constantly refining their moral character, cultivating noble sentiments, setting lofty ideals, and becoming virtuous "morally upright youths."

During the debate session, the contestants from the Jia Nong Tashui team and the Hulu Zhenxi team, as well as the Taiping Fulu team and the Niushi Shawan team, engaged in a lively debate on two closely related topics: "Is personal effort or organizational cultivation more crucial for cadre development?" and "Should young cadres start a family or establish a career first?" These topics are closely tied to the actual work and life of young cadres.

"A truly good official will warm the cold bench, gnaw through tough bones, and straighten out messy situations."  "Young officials should prioritize establishing their careers; this choice of 'prioritizing career establishment' is not about sacrifice but an active response to the mission of the times."... The debate was intense and lively. From presenting arguments, engaging in rebuttals, free debates, to concluding speeches, every segment saw the contestants' remarks delivered with force and clarity. They presented a thrilling confrontation with clear logic and superb debating skills, showcasing their high level of political literacy, professional competence, and language expression.

After the joint vote of expert judges, jury and audience, finally, Jiannong Tashui team and Taiping Fulu team won the championship of this debate competition respectively.

During the event, there were also talent shows. Programs such as "Vows of Youth,"  "Youth in Full Bloom,"  "Meeting at the Same Time," and "Marching Towards the Light" took turns on stage. Young officials showcased their vibrant spirit through diverse artistic forms like rap, dance, song performances, and cheerleading, fully demonstrating the proactive and enterprising attitude of Shawan's young cadres.

In addition, the launch ceremony for mentorship programs for young officials in Shawan District was held. A total of 41 "four-good" mentors—those with excellent political qualities, good job performance, fine conduct, and positive evaluations from both colleagues and the public—were selected from various units across the district. They will pair up with young officials to help them fasten the first button of their official duties, shorten the "exploration period" and "gap period" in their professional development, and promote their rapid growth and talent cultivation.
