Recently, at the Mingming Zexi Professional Cooperative in Caijin Town, Wutongqiao District, a truck loaded with dried Zexi slowly drove out, marking the official completion of the first batch of Zexi export orders to Japan this year. It is reported that Caijin Town plans to export approximately 420 tons of Zexi in 2025, generating about 10 million yuan in foreign exchange. The goods will be transported via international logistics channels to Japan for use in local pharmaceutical and health product production, further solidifying the brand influence of "Caijin Zexi" in the international market.
Caijin Town's Alisma industry relies on the "rice-herb rotation" model, making full use of winter fallow fields to grow Alisma. This means sowing after autumn harvest and harvesting around mid-winter, achieving efficient land resource utilization. The Mingming Alisma Cooperative implements a unified management model that includes providing seedlings, pesticides, fertilizers, technical guidance, procurement, and processing, all under a "six-unified" approach. They strictly adhere to EU GACP standards in production. Additionally, they have built a 600 cubic meter cold storage facility, introduced automated drying and washing equipment, and optimized the processing workflow by adding procedures such as "secondary polishing and peeling" and "appearance screening." These improvements ensure that the produced Alisma products are finely textured, uniformly sized, and high in active ingredient content, making them highly favored in the market.
"At present, the first batch of 30 tons of Alisma has been delivered. Next, we will deliver in batches and expect to complete the delivery of all goods before October," said Deng Yuxiao, head of Mingming Alisma Professional Cooperative in Wutongqiao District, Leshan City.
After years of exploration and effort, the quality of Cai Jinze Alisma has gained widespread recognition in both domestic and international markets, making the Alisma industry a crucial channel for increasing income and prosperity for the villagers of Caijin Town. Currently, this cooperative supports over 300 farmers in planting nearly 5,000 acres of Alisma annually, providing long-term employment for 15 migrant workers and seasonal jobs for more than 300 villagers. The cooperative pays over 3 million yuan in wages to migrant workers annually, distributes over 200,000 yuan worth of pesticides and seeds free of charge, and increases the average income per farmer by more than 10,000 yuan.
"From seed sourcing, harvesting, to processing and production, our products strictly adhere to the GACP management standards, earning us favor in overseas markets. Moving forward, we will further expand our planting scale, improve hardware facilities, and enhance product quality, laying a solid foundation for further market expansion." said Deng Yuxiao, head of the Mingming Zexi Professional Cooperative in Wutongqiao District, Leshan City.
Next, Caijin Town in Wutongqiao District will seize the opportunities presented by the creation of provincial (municipal) model villages, the upgrading of modern agricultural parks for grain and medicine, and the construction of high-standard farmland. The town plans to implement the Zexia processing plant, improve soil fertility, and develop supporting facilities such as roads and ditches. This will enhance the quality and yield of Zexia in the town, while simultaneously advancing the creation of the "National Geographical Indication Collective Trademark" for Caijin Zexia.
