The scorching July sun ignited Jingyan's passion. On the morning of July 22, the opening ceremony of the Fourth Leshan City Paralympic Games was held at Jingyan Sports Park. Twelve teams from across the city will now compete on the Jingyan field, where they will water their life dreams with sweat and write odes to life through perseverance.

The opening ceremony commenced with the majestic national anthem. Chen Jianbo, Party Secretary and County Governor of Jingyan County, extended a warm welcome to all guests on behalf of the Jingyan County Committee of the Communist Party of China, the county government, and its 380,000 residents. He paid tribute to all athletes, coaches, referees, and staff members. Chen emphasized that they would make every effort to create an exceptional competition environment with meticulous preparation, enthusiastic dedication, and thoughtful services, aiming to deliver a spectacular sports event for the entire city.

Athletes and referees then solemnly took oaths, pledging to uphold competition rules and ensure fair play, jointly safeguarding the event's high standards and credibility. "I hereby declare the fourth Leshan City Paralympic Games officially open," the official announcement echoed as the games commenced. The venue erupted in thunderous applause, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The first athlete immediately entered the arena with renewed vigor, ready to begin the inaugural round of competition.

Zhou Ronghui, an athlete from the Jingyan County team, could hardly conceal her excitement: "I am very glad to participate in the fourth Leshan Disabled Games. This is my first time to participate in such a large-scale event. I participated in the women's group of darts. I hope to achieve a good result in the following competitions and bring glory to our Jingyan team."

According to reports, the 4th Leshan City Disabled Sports Games feature nine events including athletics, swimming, table tennis, badminton, Chinese chess, darts, rope skipping, men's deaf basketball, and floor curling. The opening competition includes five events: Chinese chess, darts, rope skipping, men's deaf basketball, and floor curling. Compared to the previous edition, this year's games have added three new events—Chinese chess, rope skipping, and floor curling—providing more opportunities for disabled athletes to showcase their talents.
