As a world-famous tourist destination, Leshan city has witnessed a surge of tourists from home and abroad in its major scenic spots and food streets with the arrival of the summer tourism season.

In response, the Traffic Management Brigade of Leshan Public Security Bureau has closely aligned with the city's "Industrial Powerhouse, Cultural Tourism Revitalization" development strategy. Under unified coordination across public security traffic management departments, they launched a special campaign titled "Tourism Language Training and Transportation Service Capacity Enhancement". This initiative has made bilingual Chinese-English services the new standard for Leshan traffic police, significantly improving the quality and efficiency of "Caring for Tourists" services. The bureau is now dedicated to building the "Police-Citizen Partnership" cultural tourism policing brand.

In the process of learning and training, the municipal public security traffic management department has made full use of various measures such as post training and classroom learning to carry out foreign language training according to local conditions, which has greatly improved the practical application ability of the police and auxiliary police, and realized the "seamless connection between learning and application".

Emei Mountain Scenic Area: English training classes are moved to the post

At Mount Emei Scenic Area, the traffic management team established a mobile English teaching unit by assigning officers Zou Jie and Li Haofeng, both English majors, to key tourist hubs including Huangwan Visitor Center, Baoguo Temple Parking Lot, and Golden Summit Cable Car Station. These officers conducted rotating English training sessions at auxiliary police posts, focusing on practical phrases for frequently asked questions from foreign tourists such as sightseeing bus schedules, parking locations, and hiking routes.

According to statistics, through the English training and practical application at the post, the efficiency of foreign traffic consultation and disposal in Emeishan scenic area has been improved by 50%, and no guidance deviation caused by language barriers has occurred again.

Leshan main urban area: full scenario simulation learning, all-round service for tourists

In the main urban area of Leshan City, the First Direct Brigade has focused on high-traffic foreign-related zones including Shangzhongshun, Zhanggongqiao, Jiaxing Road, and Leshan Port. They have compiled practical English service phrases covering various scenarios such as public transportation guidance, key scenic spot directions, and quick accident compensation procedures. Each traffic management squad in the city conducts daily morning meetings featuring real-time English training sessions, simulating scenario dialogues to standardize language expression and comprehensively enhance service capabilities.

Suburban hub: Based on practical linkage training, build a "global service network"

To enhance tourism services between Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area and Suji Ancient Town, the Second Direct Brigade has developed bilingual traffic guidance for suburban routes with frequent curves and multiple side roads. These routes attract many cyclists. The team has prioritized English warning phrases like "Slow down ahead of sharp bends,"  "No cycling on this section," and "Call 110 for emergencies" as key training materials. Through WeChat group broadcasts, bilingual audio tutorials are delivered to officers and auxiliary police personnel, allowing them to study during spare moments. Currently, over 10 traffic police posts in Suji Ancient Town provide basic bilingual (Chinese-English) tourism services, establishing a comprehensive foreign-related transportation network that covers both urban and suburban areas.

Moving forward, the Leshan Public Security Traffic Police will enhance tourism transportation services through bilingual service evaluation mechanisms and a professional translation talent pool. This initiative aims to upgrade service capabilities to "precision and specialization," transforming every traffic officer into a "mobile ambassador" showcasing the beauty and civility of Leshan.
