On September 15, Sichuan Lugu Lake Scenic Area held an Investment Promotion Conference themed "Circling for Business Opportunities, Unity for Development" (echoing the "Lugu Lake Circling" tradition). The conference extended a sincere invitation to global investors, providing a comprehensive introduction to Lugu Lake’s cultural heritage, resource endowments, and development opportunities.
Lugu Lake is located at the border of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, with a water area of 56.74 square kilometers—30.82 square kilometers of which belongs to the Sichuan section. As a National AAAAA Tourist Attraction and Provincial-Level Tourist Resort, Lugu Lake is not only renowned for its stunning natural scenery but also widely known for its unique Mosuo Culture. Currently, the scenic area is advancing cultural-tourism integration and industrial upgrading, centering on three core goals: "World-Class Tourism Destination, Cultural Landscape Heritage Site, and Mosuo Homeland for Common Prosperity."

In terms of market performance, a total of 1.4108 million visitors entered Lugu Lake Scenic Area in 2024, generating an annual total tourism expenditure of 79.427 million yuan—demonstrating strong consumption potential. In terms of transportation, the Xixiang Expressway is expected to open to traffic in phases by the end of 2027, while the Panyan Expressway will soon start construction. In the future, Yanyuan County will be integrated into the "5-Hour Economic Circle of Chengdu and Kunming," significantly improving tourist accessibility. The travel model of "admiring urban prosperity in the morning and staying by Lugu Lake in the evening" will become a reality.
During the promotion conference, nine key cultural-tourism investment projects for 2025 were released, with a total investment of approximately 4.36 billion yuan. Highlights include:
The International Cultural and Tourism Valley Development and Construction Project, with a planned investment of 2.85 billion yuan. Relying on 680 mu (about 45.33 hectares) of contiguous construction land, it will build an international cultural-tourism center integrating high-end vacations, cultural arts, and Mosuo style experiences.
The Performing Arts Center Construction Project, with an investment of 660 million yuan. Located in Gula New District, adjacent to the Tourist Center and Alu Village (a national-level traditional village), it will become a new landmark of Lugu Lake after completion.
Additionally, a number of projects covering diverse business formats were launched simultaneously, including the Bu'er Jiao Agricultural-Cultural-Tourism Integration Development Project, Luowa Homestay Cluster, Lugu Lake Amusement Experience Development Project, and Dazu Forest Study-Travel Project—fully meeting the development needs of Lugu Lake’s cultural-tourism industry.

On-site at the conference, six projects were successfully signed, with a total investment of 780 million yuan. These projects include the Lugu Lake Star-Rated Hotel Project, Lugu Lake Scenic Area Health and Wellness Project, and Lugu Lake Flight Base Project.
Lugu Lake boasts not only natural and cultural attractions such as the Walking Marriage Bridge, Princess Island, and Houlong Mountain but also traditional Mosuo cuisines like preserved pork belly and Sulima Wine (a traditional Mosuo rice wine). At the same time, four tourist routes with distinct styles provide diversified experiences for visitors. Currently, Lugu Lake is opening its doors wider, sincerely inviting investors from all sectors to join hands, help the millennium-old Mosuo Homeland regain new vitality, and jointly write a new chapter of high-quality cultural-tourism development.
