On September 25, the Muchuan County Cultural Center hosted the "Konjac New Cuisine: Creating the Future" Konjac Food Cooking Competition. As a key supporting event for the 2025 World Konjac Food Industry Development Conference, this competition used "Konjac" as a medium to gather culinary elites, vividly showcasing the charm of ingredients and innovative vitality in the "Hometown of China's Konjac".

This culinary showdown, centered on innovation, saw ten finalists from local restaurants, agritourism businesses, and cooking enthusiasts compete in a knockout round. At the event, contestants showcased their expertise using Muchuan's premium konjac ingredients. From ingredient selection to heat control, seasoning combinations to presentation design, they fully leveraged konjac's "high plasticity and low-calorie health benefits". The lineup featured traditional adaptations like bamboo forest cured pork and local mountain vegetables, creative Western-style dishes, and innovative meal replacements blending modern wellness concepts. Each visually appealing dish dazzled judges and audiences with its perfect harmony of color, aroma, flavor, and presentation.

The competition invited a professional judging panel composed of China's culinary masters, konjac industry experts, and food culture scholars to conduct comprehensive evaluations from dimensions such as ingredient application, technical innovation, flavor characteristics, and health concepts. After intense competition, one first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes were ultimately awarded. "The contestants not only preserved the authentic essence of Muchuan konjac but also infused traditional ingredients with modern vitality. Such innovation is precisely the core driving force for industrial development," said a representative of the judges during the commentary.

The establishment of this competition serves not only as a showcase for Muchuan konjac's industrial achievements but also as a vivid demonstration of the integrated development model combining intangible cultural heritage, industry, and cultural tourism. According to reports, Muchuan's konjac cultivation covers 35,000 mu (about 2,333 hectares), driving planting across surrounding areas totaling over 50,000 mu. The entire industry chain generates an annual output value of 1.8 billion yuan, with products exported to more than 60 countries and regions. By creating an exchange platform through the event, it not only allows more people to experience the unique flavor of konjac cuisine but also helps boost the national geographical indication brand "Muchuan Konjac".
